About the Creator
My name is OlaKunle Babatunde, and I'm a lead software engineer with nearly 10 years of experience, currently working at a large corporation. I'm married to my beautiful wife, a Registered Nurse, and together we're raising four amazing boys: Zion (my oldest, 5 years old), and his younger brothers.
As a father and technologist, I believe in combining my professional skills with my passion for my children's education to create something meaningful - not just for my family, but for families everywhere.
The Z5 Academy Story
Every morning since Zion was 3 years old, we've had our special ritual: reading together, practicing math, and exploring shapes on paper. These weren't just lessons - they were moments of connection, discovery, and joy. When Zion started kindergarten, I wanted to preserve that same warm, human - centered learning environment we'd created together at home.
That's when Z5 Academy was born. I wanted to create a platform that felt like those early morning sessions - engaging, supportive, and tailored to kindergarteners like Zion.
I invested in professional voice recordings to ensure every read-aloud story feels personal and engaging. I build every feature with Zion in mind, focusing on human read-alouds, numbers, shapes, and reading comprehension - the building blocks of early learning.
The results have been incredible. Zion has already won math and reading awards at school. He knows advanced skip counting, since the age of 4 years old, and so much more. Watching him thrive and grow has been the greatest reward, and it keeps me motivated to add new content and features. As he moves to the next grade, Z5 Academy will grow with him.
But here's the thing: seeing Zion's improvement made me realize that every child deserves access to quality educational resources, regardless of their family's financial situation. That's why I've made Z5 Academy free, and I intend to keep it free forever. This is my gift to parents, teachers, and children everywhere.
